Built circa 1873, the "Lion House" has undergone extensive renovations in order to offer the modern amenities of today while keeping the stately grace of yesteryear.

This grand home has also served its community well as both a boarding house and a refuge for the homeless after The Great Windsor fire of 1897. Jon and Kelly are proud to be the 14th owners of this wonderful home opening the B&B with a 4 1/2 star accommodation with Canada Select.

The grand entrance of the Hollow welcomes you with century-old grace and elegance. The 12 foot high ceilings, original historic plaster crown mouldings, and dramatic sweeping staircase bring you back to a time of beauty and reflection.

Once you have registered with us at the front desk we will be sure to take through the home and tell you about its rich history and the wonderful town of Windsor and all that you can do while visiting with us. we have maps and brochures to help you plan your stay.

Here at the Hollow your privacy and comfort are our main concerns, with that in mind we are a B&B that runs more like an inn - no worries of tripping over the innkeepers' slippers :). We have separate quarters and staircase from our guests and while we make sure we are avaialble to you, we do not share the same areas. Guests are also given a front door code so that you may come and go as you please.

The front parlour is also known as the Sherry Room and is your own living room designed specifically for you while you stay with us at the Hollow. Enjoy the high bookcases filled with books, games and DVDs. You will also find a desk/work area complete with a computer and internet services. In evening we serve complimentary beverages and snacks. Art work is displayed around the room for your viewing and is also available for purchase. Feel free to bring your own beverage of choice and enjoy it in the Sherry Room or even on the covered front deck as you enjoy the late afternoon sun.

The formal dinning room is where you will enjoy your breakfast. There is a menu provided in your room with several hot options for you to choose from and there is also a generous selection of continental choices while you wait for your meal. Breakfast is served from 7am - 9am (you choose the time and what you want to eat) however the dining room remains open each day until 8pm with a selection of teas and Keurig coffee for you to enjoy.

This grand room also houses many original paintings for viewing and for sale as it doubles as Kelly's gallery. This combination of old elegance and modern contemporary art provide a unique dining experience. Paintings are available for public viewing on an appointment basis only so, again, our guests will not be disturbed.
